Cellex-C Skin Care

Cellex-C invented vitamin C skin care and created a revolution in anti-aging treatments. Cellex-C Complex is incorporated into all their core and advanced C formulations. Over the years, they have been asked to add vitamin E, alpha-hydroxy acids or peptides to their vitamin C serums. For this reason, they created the Cellex-C Enhancer and Betaplex lines which contain the additional skin benefiting ingredients: lycopene, vitamin E, gamma linolenic acid, hydroxy acids and peptides.

In 1990 Cellex-C acquired a patent developed by Doctors Meisner and Schnitsky at the University of Wisconsin Madison. The patent demonstrated how a particular form of vitamin CL-ascorbic acidplus tyrosine and zinc, could actually stimulate collagen production. The problem with the patent was, that due to the instability of ascorbic acid in any water based formulation, it was commercially impossible to produce. In fact, at the beginning they were able to make formulations that only had a shelf-life of eight weeks. During their quest to discover why this volatile form of vitamin C was relatively stable in fruits and berries, they stumbled upon a way to keep ascorbic acid partly stable by utilizing the synergy of plant bioflavonoids. It is this delicate balance between stable and unstable that yields maximum bioavailability of ascorbic acid to the skin.
They also found that certain phyto-chemicals contained in berries actually enhanced the potency of ascorbic acid while acting as powerful anti-oxidants in themselves. The culmination of this research was the development of the vitamin C based Cellex-C Complex which is incorporated into all their core and advanced C formulations. With regard to the original patent, it expired several years ago in the United States although the patent is still active internationally in some countries. However, contrary to industry perception, the patent does not provide the formula for the Cellex-C Complex. That is why it has not been nor can It be duplicated by anyone else. The unique proprietary method of manufacturing Cellex-C Complex is known to only five people worldwide.
Another question they are frequently asked is why their formulations darken over time. It is simply the nature of free form L-ascorbic acid. A customer should be concerned if the vitamin C product they purchase stays clear or white and does not darken with time. This would indicate the ascorbic acid's natural reaction had been chemically inhibited to a degree that would affect its usefulness in collagen synthesis. The unique, proprietary combination of stabilized L-ascorbic acid, tyrosine, zinc, phyto-chemicals and glycosaminoglycans that make up the Cellex-C Complex is responsible for the exceptional results experienced by thousands of loyal Cellex-C customers worldwide.
